Antoinette Hatchett – Bowie, MD
I was born in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, where I continue to live and thrive. My grandfather dabbled in oil paint all throughout my childhood and was very influential when it came to my interest in fine art. I loved to draw as a child, however found an interest in media arts as I grew older and focused my attention there.
In 1995, I graduated from New Jersey City University with a B.A. in Media Arts. Upon my return to my hometown, I’d lost interest in media arts and regained an appreciation for the fine arts. With little formal training and a great eye for detail, I’ve won the hearts of many by sketching and painting touching portraits of their loved ones. Upon diagnosis, I have found healing while doing portraits as people’s expressions speak volumes and feelings in ways of which I’m not always able to communicate.
