Alfred Haymond – Altadena, CA
A long-time resident of Altadena, California, artist Alfred Haymond continues to distinguish himself as an accomplished photographer – a creative spirit ever in search of meaning and inspiration found in the spontaneity of the vintage architecture, rural landscapes, intimate pictorials, pedestrian glimpses, and fleeting scenes of Americana – all thoughtfully captured through the lens of his camera.
“The very moment I step outside the door, I’m creating! To me, black-and-white photography is where my heart and head are at. It has a way of articulating a picture that instantly pulls the viewer into the image. I’m inspired by the lives and works of James Baldwin, Marvin Gaye, Gil Scott-Heron, and John Coltrane. If their words and music were to be translated into photographs, I’d tend to think ~ that’s probably what my pictures would look like.”
