Alexis Estave – Columbus, OH
My name is Alexis Estave, and I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis in March 2025. I was born in Mississippi in 2003 and have lived in Columbus, Ohio, for 20 years. I’ve worked in various art styles, winning 3 awards, but I have mainly focused on woodburning for the past 10 years. It has helped me slow down and build stronger discipline in my focus, patience, and precision. I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s in animal health and behavior online at Unity Environmental University, which has reduced my time spent on art. But I recently took a class in environmental photography because of my past interest in photography, and I have fallen in love with it and how it is similar to woodburning. Now, I am diving further into photography.
