Art has always held my interest, but I didn’t realize the therapeutic elements it held until multiple sclerosis touched my life. Emotionally I was so deeply affected by the diagnosis that I didn’t always know how to verbally express what I was going through. The disease caused me to slow down and rather than let it affect me negatively, I chose to see the beauty around me.

Through painting I was able to display my new way of seeing everything around me. I wouldn’t say that I am glad that this disease has come in to my life, but I am blessed by the way it helped me realize how precious life is and art helps me tell other people that.
