Lucinda Mierek – Anderson, SC

I pulled these two images out from my old portfolio of unfinished works. They have been waiting for me for 35 years. I wanted to finish them with the newly found influence color has in my art. My multiple sclerosis gave me slightly blurry eyesight but also gave me a better understanding of the importance of color. My fuzzy brain seems to be stimulated by brighter colors.

In the 2013 MSAA Showcase my work was loose and bright; these are bright and tight. My intermittent tremble was useful for loose but not for these tight works. I persevered. Pen, acrylic paint and pencil were used to create “Somewhere.” Acrylic and pen for “Intertwined.” I hope you enjoy them.
