I was diagnosed with MS in 2000 and was working full time until I was in an accident in 2006. As a result of that, and my MS progressing, I stopped working. Throughout the years I have developed optic neuritis, Raynaud’s disease, foot drop, carpal tunnel, back and neck problems, along with the horrible ways MS makes me feel. I always remain positive, even on the days when I feel I can’t move.
I discovered pencil drawing a few years ago when I drew my friend’s two dogs. Soon after, I drew more dogs for other friends. Although I never had any training, I have always been artistic and musical. My greatest challenge is to get motivated because my body and brain move slowly. I have been going to a local support group for MS for 17 years, and was encouraged by everyone there to enter my drawings to MSAA Art Showcase.
