Alexandra Trovato – Carmel, NY

I am a 51-year-old woman who was diagnosed with MS in 1993, after my daughter was 13 months old. I was blinded in my left eye, and felt it was best to get a divorce and raise my child alone. Having MS has made me aware of my health and well-being.
Originally, I went to school for fine art, then teaching. In 1995, I went back to teaching. My art skills helped me connect with my students. Currently, I’m happily married to my supportive and loving husband, Chris. I’m no longer working, but I am able to manage and maintain my health, at home. I choose the season, autumn, because it reminds me of RRMS. Things get worse for trees, then, in spring, get better. In between, they can be beautiful and strong. I can relate.
