I am a self-taught artist working in pastels, watercolor, and acrylic. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2015, and since that time, art has become an essential part of my life. Creating gives me a place to release stress, quiet my mind, and reconnect with a sense of calm and purpose when living with MS feels overwhelming.
My work is guided more by feeling than technique. Each piece is an opportunity to explore resilience, beauty, and movement – often reflecting the emotional landscape of life with a chronic illness. One of my submitted pieces is a 7½-foot by 10-foot purple butterfly mural, recently painted as a photo backdrop for a fundraising event supporting an MS-related nonprofit where I volunteer. That butterfly represents transformation, hope, and the power of community – values that continue to sustain me through both art and advocacy.
