Sue Lawrence-Reeder – Monmouth, ME
“In nature, light creates the color. In the picture, color creates the light”— Hans Hofmann. My battle with MS has had its long challenging times including numerous bouts of optic neuritis; occasionally having it in both eyes at the same time, which lead to long periods of visual impairment and colorblindness. As frustrating as that was for an artist, the eventual return of the ability to see colors was like a rebirth of my appreciation for bold and vibrant shades used by artists like Itzchak Tarkay, who was the inspiration for three of my stained-glass creations.
