Latasha Holley (CARBON ONYX) – Atlanta, GA

With controversial pieces, titled “CARBONATED” and “RESPECT ROYALTY,” her work has been featured nationally, from a black art matters street art exhibit in FL, to a black love matters exhibit in IL. Her work is stamped with the first two letters of her first name and the year created (Ex: EM16). Other marks include her zodiac sign and the Ankh symbol. She eventually settled on the pen name CARBON ONYX in 2022. Many of her sculptures are accompanied by a dated and notarized authenticity certificate (2001 and after). With her signature stamps, it’s hard to deny that each piece is a statement.
