I recently started watercolor painting as a way to de-stress and connect with my 8-year-old autistic daughter, Ella. Ella loves to communicate her feelings through art in various mediums, and I’m finding it helps me relax and connect with her.

My MS Care team at Mount Sinai Hospital hosted several talks about art and MS, and how it can help support cognitive reserve. In addition to taking a disease-modifying therapy, I spend a lot of time focusing on sleep, nutrition, exercise, and managing stress.

Art has become a great tool for me to manage stress in a positive way!
