Chuck Laux – Omaha, NE

My name is Chuck Laux from Omaha, NE. I was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting MS in October of 1999. I have lived with MS for many years. I have found creating pottery is calming and therapeutic. When I am at my pottery wheel, in my home studio, I get very focused on what pottery I am trying to create.

After throwing the piece on the potter’s wheel, trimming the piece, bisque firing it in my kiln, decorating and glazing the piece, and the final step of glaze firing. The pottery piece is done and very rewarding.

You have taken a ball of clay and created artwork. Creating pottery is expressive to me. I have an idea of what I am going to make but each piece is original and one of a kind.

It takes several steps to get to the completed result, I hope you enjoy this pottery as much as I do.
