Carmela Casipe – Missouri City, TX

I am 43 years old, and it’s later than I think. I gain a lot of insights from sitting with nature. I witness the change that comes with the seasons and feel that this is my season.
 Since my diagnosis, I was hit with a very real sense that I should do what I love while I can, and I should do it as often as possible. Art is what I love and art has been a place of learning. I’m reminded through art that perfection is an illusion.

Sometimes, the things I didn’t intend to happen become something I enjoy if I don’t get in the way. Creating art brings me back to myself when MS makes me want to run away.
