Multiple sclerosis took my legs and career from me ten years ago at age 48. When God closes a door, He opens two. I now have time to use my talents, and amazingly when I paint, I forget about my hurting. I consider painting an important part of my physical, emotional, and spiritual therapy. It brings me a place of peace.
I am blessed to have built a home that is for wheelchair living, have learned to drive with my hands, and have a van equipped to do so. Despite living alone as a paraplegic, I have health aids come in to help each morning and evening, a devoted adult son, and a best friend who enjoys painting, too! I formed a MS self-help group at my local hospital and have developed some friendships that will be life-long.
