Ryan Edmonds – Parker, CO

I started painting as a young adult in 2008. I struggled with insomnia and used painting as a way to pass the long nights. In 2014 I was diagnosed with M.S. My new life changing diagnosis and new symptoms rocked my world as my hobby became unmanageable. Though this was the toughest challenge I have ever faced, I continued to paint struggling through the hand tremors, fatigue and other symptoms. I described this experience to others as teaching myself how to paint twice. It can be so frustrating to know how to do something and your body won’t let you do it. I have learned that art doesn’t need to look perfect as long as you don’t give up, you’re doing it right.
