I moved from NYC 23 years ago to Florida and started teaching at a local high school. Due to cognitive issues from MS, I retired early this past June. The symptoms started way before my diagnosis, but I ignored them and just attributed them to me being tired, out of shape, or clumsiness. In early November, 2011 the vision in my right eye became gray, and eventually black. Thus, was the “start” of my RRMS journey.
Since 2011, I have had flare-ups of ON, chronic pain, numbness, chronic exhaustion, and cognitively issues. I used to do everything – act in community musicals, swim with wild whale sharks in Mexico, and travel.
I started painting 1.5 years ago (thanks YouTube). MS increased my stress and pain level greatly, but painting (and coloring) helps me to relax.
