MSAA is proud to support Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month during the month of March and is offering several online educational activities for all ages, which include two podcast episodes, two webinars, and videos on TikTok and other social media channels featuring experts in the field of MS. MSAA’s national campaign for MS Awareness Month focuses on “Life with MS: Different Stages of the Journey” with specific programs addressing MS management during all life stages across four weeks:

  • Week One: Pediatric MS
  • Week Two: Young Adults and MS
  • Week Three: Family Planning and MS
  • Week Four: Aging Well with MS

Rohini Samudralwar Dr. Rohini Samudralwar is an assistant professor of clinical neurology, an associate program director of the Neurology Residency at the University of Pennsylvania Penn Medicine, and a Philadelphia native. During this one-hour presentation, Dr. Samudralwar explores the many concerns of being a parent with MS, such as: deciding when and if to start a family, managing MS symptoms as a parent, planning for caregiver assistance, discussing MS with one’s children, and other vital topics.

Healthy Aging with MS featuring Lana Zhovtis Ryerson, MD

Thursday, March 30, 2023, 8:00 – 9:00 PM Eastern
Lana Zhovtis Ryerson Lana Zhovtis Ryerson, MD is a board-certified neurologist with a special focus in MS currently practicing at Hackensack Meridian Medical Group in New Jersey. Dr. Ryerson’s one-hour presentation frames the challenges that older MS patients face, identifies modifiable risk factors associated with hastened disease progression, and discusses the role of disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) in older individuals with MS. She also explores healthy aging models that have been identified to contribute to healthy aging.
