MSAA’s Publications, Website, and Blog Receive National Recognition

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is proud to announce that many of our free publications and resources received awards this summer from the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, the Digital Health Awards, the National Health Information Awards, and Healthline!

MSAA received four Awards of Excellence from the Thirty-Second Annual APEX Awards! The first award was in the Magazines, Journals & Tabloids category for the Winter/Spring 2019 edition of The Motivator. This edition of the magazine includes the cover story, “Planning for Your Future,” which defines legal and financial decisions and documents that need to be considered when planning for the future.

The second Award of Excellence from the APEX Awards was given in the Websites – Most Improved category for MSAA’s official website, MyMSAA.org. In January 2020, MSAA revealed a completely redesigned homepage as well as additional updates to connect website visitors to vital information in a user-friendly format.

Additionally, the cover story in the Summer/Fall 2019 edition of The Motivator was given an Award of Excellence. This cover story focused on “Pediatric MS,” with information on disease course, diagnosis, treatment options, and overall wellness for younger individuals diagnosed with MS.

Finally, MSAA received an Award of Excellence in the One-of-a-Kind Publications – Health & Medical Publications category for our Employment and MS booklet. This booklet was created to help members of the MS community assess their current work situation, identify where changes are needed, and learn about valuable resources if choosing to alter their career path.

According to Communications Concepts, Inc., the APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.

At the beginning of June 2020, The Winter/Spring 2019 edition of The Motivator was recognized with a Silver Award from the 22nd Annual Digital Health Awards. MyMSAA.org also received a Digital Health Bronze Award. Digital Health Awards entries were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges – entries are reviewed and judged based on content, format, success in reaching the targeted health audience, and overall quality.

MSAA received a Merit Award from the 27th Annual National Health Information Awards for the “Pediatric MS” cover story in the Summer/Fall 2019 edition of The Motivator. According to the National Health Information Awards, hundreds of local, state, and national health-related organizations enter the competition each year.

In July 2020, MSAA’s blog, MS Conversations, was named one of the Best Multiple Sclerosis Blogs for the sixth consecutive year!
