What’s New in MS Research – May 2026

Multiple sclerosis was front and center when neurologists from across the country and around the world convened in Chicago in April for the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

Researchers presented the results of more than 190 MS-focused studies during the meeting. They shared key data on investigational and approved disease-modifying therapies, factors that affect the course of MS, the impact of co-existing health conditions and the medications used to treat them, and approaches to symptom management. And, of course, no medical meeting these days is complete without reports on how artificial intelligence, or AI, is reshaping care.
