Nancy Garcia – Chicago Heights, IL

It’s been 40 years since my MS symptoms first appeared. In the last few years I finally accepted the reality that I could no longer work and I found refuge in art. Most of my work uses watercolor, ink or both. As a Certified Zentangle Teacher, I often combine that technique with watercolors. Painting and drawing have become my meditation and the place where my imagination can soar. I find most of my inspiration in nature and simple things – a single bloom, a lovingly prepared cup of tea – things that those of us with MS know all too well should not be taken for granted.
