Nadine Shapiro – Springfield, MA

I was diagnosed with MS shortly after graduating from college in 2000. I studied art history and was able to work a few years with art collections and archives but ended up needing aggressive treatment with HSCT and on SSDI quite young.

I have always loved art and know how lucky I am that I can still create! Often I wonder what I would do without art. When I’m not at museums or making art with friends or by myself, I enjoy reading and experimenting with new art techniques. I draw and paint both figuratively and abstractly.
