Kim Chabre – Caribou, ME

I am an artist based in rural Caribou, Maine, with a lifelong connection to animals, birds, and the natural world. My father raised sheep and deer and kept pigeons, peacocks, and other birds. These early experiences shaped my deep appreciation for animals and nature.

Living with multiple sclerosis has changed how I live and work. Painting has become a meditative practice that helps me slow down, focus, and work within my physical limits. It brings me joy and a sense of calm. Nature continues to be a steady source of comfort and healing, and birds often appear in my work as quiet companions.

Through my art, I hope to encourage others to surround themselves with and connect to nature and its healing power.
