Hilary Cabrera – Lawrenceville, GA

I was diagnosed in October 2023, and I am finally getting a hang of my life with MS. Despite the challenges, one commitment I’ve made to myself is to never cease creating. As an artist, I am fortunate to share my passion for art with my high school students as their art teacher. I am in my 11th year in this role, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I thrive on learning and experimenting with a range of process-based mediums, including developing my own film in the darkroom, printmaking, painting, ceramics, and alternative photographic processes such as cyanotype. Working through these processes teaches me patience, flexibility, and adaptability, which now helps me navigate life with MS.
