Deanne Cox – Upper Marlboro, MD

I am a retired educator that loves travel and exploring history, culture, art, cuisine, and nature. I am from Washington DC. I am of African American Puerto Rican and Creole descent. My work is inspired by capturing history and nature in my travels. I have lived with MS since 1994. My first work was an abstract painting submitted in 1974. In high school I explored drawing, ceramics, and photography. Upon diagnosis, I started a beaded jewelry business, “Grace by Design.” Since then, most of my work has been photography.
