Leslie Pino Durant – Placitas, NM
Leslie Pino Durant (b. 1966, Belen, New Mexico) is a mixed media artist based in Placitas. She began painting in her late 40s as a way to cope with multiple sclerosis, finding solace and passion in the creative process. Her work combines collages, vibrant acrylic drips, stencils, and pencil marks, often focusing on themes of strong women and flowers, as seen in her debut show, Mujeres y Flores.
Leslie serves as the Social Media Specialist for the New Mexico Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, championing New Mexico women artists. Her art has been featured on the cover of the International Journal of MS Care and in the MSAA Art Showcases (2020–2024). She exhibits her work across New Mexico and online, inspiring others with her vibrant style and dedication to creative exploration.
