MSAA Art Showcase Artist of the Month

April Yamamura – Niagara Falls, NY

I have had an interest in art for only about a year and a half, especially doing mixed media. I stopped working in December 2022 after working with people with disabilities for 17 years. This was mostly due to my mobility issues worsening because of my diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. I went on Social Security Disability in June 2023 after applying in December 2022. I have been using art as a coping mechanism for my mental health issues as well.
