Amanda Chavez – Anthem, AZ

This is my second year submitting my art. I enjoy painting as it’s my escape from my diagnosis. I was diagnosed in May of 2020. I have learned to adjust to living with MS. My twin sister, mother, and older sister also have multiple sclerosis, so I have a great support system who really understands what I go through on a day-to-day basis. Art is my passion and has been since I was a child. I never pursued my art academically beyond high school. Almost everything I paint is self-taught and I love to learn new ideas and techniques. All my art is acrylic painting, but one day I would like to try oil. As long as I am able to have movement in my hands and have no tremors, I will always continue with my artwork. I am thankful for the strong MS community and happy to share our connection through art.
