Alaura Allen – Loxahatchee, FL
Born in Brooklyn, Alaura Allen spent her childhood in a small Long Island seaside town. After two years of Architecture at Pratt Institute, she transferred to Syracuse University and graduated with a BFA and MFA in Visual Communications. She also earned a BFA in Interior Design from Ringling School of Art. She has worked as an Illustrator and Designer whose clients included Hallmark Cards, Rounder Records, Doubleday, Sony Music Nashville, Columbia Records, Tennessee State Museum, Grand Old Opry, and Marty Stuart Tours.
Over the years Alaura has taught Art, Illustration and Interior Design at many venues, including the Art Institute of Kansas City, The Nelson Atkins Museum, The Spencer Museum at The University of Kansas and various community centers. Additionally, she served as an Adjunct Professor at Palm Beach State College.
Presently, she paints at her Bally Rose Farm in South Florida. Her studio is filled with her watercolors.
