I’m an intuitive multimedia artist using mostly acrylics. All of my paintings consist of at least 10 layers. Taking off paint from each layer to reveal the underneath layers is as important as applying the paint. I have no agenda and no plan. I paint for relaxation, being lost in another world where none of life’s harsh realities exist. A variety of unconventional items are used to apply the paint. Rarely do I use a paintbrush. I concentrate on mixing pretty colors, adding in texture, and total experimentation. My paintings generally look very different from each other because I don’t like doing the same thing over and over. Some good paintings get wrecked by saying to myself, “I wonder what would happen if I… ” Oh well, it becomes another layer and just adds depth to the final painting. When’s the painting complete? When I love it enough that I don’t want to part with it.
