Leslie Pino Durant – Placitas, NM

My art is a journey of emotions. It starts with the liberating chaos of collage, splatters, and texture, devoid of rules. Gradually, I embrace structure and composition, a skill I’ve honed over time. As I near completion, a touch of melancholy often lingers. Yet, the ultimate joy is sharing my work with the world, witnessing its impact on others. Andrew Salgado and Jose Cacho inspire me with their vibrant colors and evocative imagery. Jean Michel Basquiat, my all-time favorite, encourages my love for bold marks and spontaneity. My mind envisions powerful, colorful women, the subjects of my art, sharing stories of happiness. Lately, I’ve delved into abstracts, and nature’s influence leads me to paint woodland animals. Art, to me, is an expression of the beautiful chaos within.
