Vanessa Willison – Dorchester, NE

I’ve had a lifelong interest in photography. While in college, my major in photography evolved into a jewelry & small metals major. Years later I attended school with a major in welding, hoping to create large sculptures. I wasn’t aware that multiple sclerosis was going to change my path in life. I’ve returned to photography because it works with my daily challenges. I live in a rural location where buildings are typically allowed to stand until they deteriorate. I’ve become fascinated (and a little obsessed) by these abandoned structures, and it gives me the chance to take Sunday drives along gravel roads. I hope the viewer is drawn to unexpected details in my photos. I feel that noticing different details will transform the subject of the photo for each individual viewer.
