I am a self-taught artist. I’ve always had a flair for art throughout my early years. As my abilities broadened, I was represented by Cardinal Artists Productions. One door opened another. I started winning juried art shows and accumulating honors. Seventeen Magazine Art Contest, Mower County Fair Grand Champion, Van Morrison TB Sheets Album cover – by 18 years of age I had painted portraits of Vice President Hubert Humphrey, MN Governor Wendal Anderson, MN State Senator CR Hansen to name a few. Moving To LA at age 20, I began painting portraits of celebrities. Pat & Shirley Boone, Burt Reynolda, Merv Griffin, James Mason, Jack Nicholson and Gene Autry. I painted President Reagan’s portrait and presented it to Nancy Reagan on the Mike Douglas show in 1981. The portrait hangs at the Reagan Presidential Library. My portraits of Bob Dylan, Jim Henson and Steven Spielberg won a 1998 Emmy Award for Time Honors “People of the Century” hosted by Mike Wallace. In 2000, I won a Gold Promax Award for the 2000 CBS Grammy Awards Press & Marketing Package. I’ve been a member of The Art Directors Guild for 40 years. At the time of my multiple sclerosis disability, I was head of CBS Television City Graphics. I worked at NBC, ABC, FOX, Paramount, Universal, MGM, on many Television and Movie Productions. From Top Gun, Pretty in Pink to The Soupy Sales Show, The Price is Right, The Young & Restless, Bold and Beautiful, Wheel of Fortune, American Idol, The Late Show with Davis Letterman etc.”
