2021 MSAA Art Showcase Entrants
Sarah MacAllister – Vista, CA
I was diagnosed 6 years ago with primary-progressive MS, at age 64. I was relieved to finally get a diagnosis, and grateful to have gotten to experience a lifetime of activity before disability started taking over. One of the first books I read about MS was by Ann Romney who advised that when stricken with a life altering disease, pursue your passion. Although I had never before seriously pursued painting, I now felt the challenge and need to be creative. I started with acrylics and am now trying oils. I am a newcomer to Bend, Oregon and am thrilled with the active art community here, and my amazing art teachers. Never too young to learn – painting is the only anti-depressant I need.
