Cassandra Hamilton – Marlborough, CT

I am a disabled artist/writer with traumatic brain injury and central vision loss in one eye who creates from shamanic journeys and dreams. In 2015, after a life changing dream with a black bird that instructed me on matters of art and dreaming, I returned to art studies after decades of not doing visual art − and discovered drawing and painting greatly reduced my chronic pain. Now I record daily dreams and create from them. I teach Active Dreaming (a synthesis of modern dreamwork and shamanism) through my company BearDog Dreaming. In 2020, my art reached international audiences with German publications Beyond Words and Beyond Queer Words. Other publications include Prometheus Dreaming, The Door Opener Magazine, and MUSED, a BellaOnline Literary Review. My artwork has shown at The Mystic Museum of Art, Marlborough Arts Center and Cromwell Creative District.
