Craig Sutherland – San Jose, CA
I have been living for many years with MS, although it was not diagnosed until about three years ago. I’m told that I have primary-progressive MS based on the onset taking place in my late 40’s. I am a musician, singer/songwriter and an artist since I can no longer work.
Most of my time is spent on music, however I do create “Art Guitars” from kits and sometimes I will create art on found objects. These two pieces are created on some cabinet doors that were made wrong for my bathroom. They were perfect for this! The black areas were carved out and filled with a paint and spackle, I used an airbrush, paintbrush and acrylic paints to finish the pieces, so I would call them a mixed media painting.
