Teresa Grzeslo – North Barrington, IL

This is my 6th year entering MSAA’s Art Showcase. I have been diagnosed with Secondary Progressive M.S. since 2004. I retired from being a teacher’s aide in 2007 and previously had a career as an Occupational Therapist. I have 2 grown children and have been married for 32 years. I can identify as a recreational artist that enjoys the emotional healing potential of meeting a challenge with perseverance, experiences comfort in personal expression and benefits from insight into myself and others.

I have struggled in the past 10 years with acceptance of progressive symptoms of limited mobility and a less active lifestyle. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to hold a paint brush or realistically have the energy beyond ADL’s, but I’m appreciative of satisfying life experiences and growth in self-acceptance.
