Denise Sorro-Butler – Clarksville, TN
My name is Denise Sorro-Butler, I was diagnosed with MS in 2011 after years of symptoms. I have two grown children; a Son and Daughter along with two granddaughters.
I had never been able to draw or paint, but one day after my diagnoses I picked up a pencil and discovered that I could draw more than just a stick figure. I enjoy the use of pencil(s) and acrylic paint in my art. My favorite subjects are Ladies; mostly with unexpected things in their Hair. The bit of whimsy is refreshing and seems to put a smile on the viewers face.
There are days that my MS is not happy and I do find that my vision can be a challenge, but my art helps me keep things moving “mentality and physically”. My two little dogs Scarlett and Bella, both bichon’s are my daily company now as MS has changed and reshaped my life. I would say MS takes so much, but for me it has also given the gift to create for others and that is what really puts the stroke in my art.
