Tonny Ayers – St. Petersburg, FL

In high school, I lived in the art department. I learn about different paint, technique, and styles. It was the 80’s, and I was in love with Patrick Nagel’s style. At 28, I discovered the beauty Industry, and getting paid to create with makeup! I helped open Giorgio Armani Cosmetics. And built a great business filled with amazing clients, and Beautiful makeovers. Awards kept coming, top makeup artist, top counter business, etc. I really enjoyed what I was doing.

2011 rolled around with a diagnosis of RRMS, who heard of that! My body was breaking down, and all I knew was work, and so I ignored everything but work. I did until this year, I went in for a “simple” microscopic knee surgery, and with MS nothing is simple, add heart disease to the mix. I’ve been dealing with a full-blown relapse since then. Happy 50th to me.

I love dogs, I’ve been blessed with two girl schnauzers, and now King Henry, my first boy Chihuahua. He is so different. He is my therapy animal, he has traveled with me from coast to coast. Stayed at a physical therapy center with me. He makes me happy, and laugh everyday. I do not know what I’d do without him.

My goal is to someday pick up a paint brush, or pencil and create something. Gain some mobility. And cooler weather.
