Luz Marquez – Miami, FL
Born in Puerto Rico, I have lived in Miami for 30 years. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 27 years ago, though my symptoms began in my teenage years. For 22 years, I worked as a special education teacher, a role that brought me joy and purpose. Living with this condition has taught me to slow down, appreciate the little things, and live with gratitude. Despite physical challenges, my faith has strengthened, giving me the ability to adapt and find joy in everyday life. Painting has always been a passion, and in this season, it has become a source of inspiration and peace. I am excited to share my artwork: “Noemi” (my daughter, a source of love and inspiration), “Coco” (my son and daughter-in-law’s dog, who brought joy to our family), and “Guillernos Path” (Vereda Guillerno), dedicated to my nephew. Through art, I express hope, faith, and love for life.
