My artwork is the silver lining of my MS diagnosis. Without it, I would never have known I could create such paintings. It was a chance happening, at a very low point in my life, when I needed to find an outlet to express my emotions. Although I did not have a background in the arts, I found myself at an art store in hopes of finding a form of therapy and purpose.

I have even pushed myself to go further than just purchasing acrylic paints to create my paintings, by teaching myself how to use various mediums and mixtures of things. For example, utilizing powder pigments that allow me to create a variety of colors, of which I refer to playing the role of a “scientist” in my basement, which I call my brain “workout” time.

When creating my paintings I can pour my emotions onto the canvas. The calming effect provides a release for me which feels unreal. Now, being able to share this work with others has truly provided intention and purpose back into my life. Now more than ever, my paintings continue to be a form of therapy as I underwent a craniotomy in March of 2024.
