I am not sure that living with MS is harder than living as an artist today. As far as I know, MS was with me long after art began and that is how I see my life. The paintings and drawings I make are essential to my health, just as my DMT and immune therapy.
Through my paintings, I process the life I was given to live and the lives that touch mine in relationships. For a long time, architecture was the vocabulary through which I told the stories of my friendships and loves, but as I have become more mature through challenge, change and loss, my work has turned to direct observation of photographs, nature and personal mementos. By reflecting in oil paint what has shaped me and my life, I offer an exploration of feelings that offer my most vulnerable and childlike self.
