J Brown – Chicago, IL

Most of my fine art gallery resonates with abstract impressionism; characterized by dynamic brushstrokes, bold colors, and rich textures. This dominant artist style has been applied to various modalities: watercolor, mixed media & digital art (which also employs techniques like layering, compositional strategies & color mixing) – pushing the boundaries on what is considered art with the use of an iPad. However, my love for sketching is also visible in my gallery; as all of these mediums speak to the various ways in which emotions are portrayed as opposed to realistic representations. When paired with an M.A. in mass media, curation skills and visual story telling come together to track nuance and mood through abstract forms.
