Hilary Cabrera – Lawrenceville, GA
I was diagnosed in October 2023, and I am learning to navigate my life with MS. Despite the challenges, one commitment I’ve made to myself is to never cease creating. As an artist, I am fortunate to share my passion for art with my high school students as their art teacher. I am in my 10th year in this role, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I thrive on working with various mediums, such as developing my 35mm film in the dark room, printmaking, painting, ceramics, and digital photography. For this year’s showcase, I wanted to exhibit my art that depicts nature persisting through challenging environments and seasons. Flowers and trees rely on the wind to blow them around, making them stronger — just as I am growing stronger day by day.
