Jay Brown – Chicago, IL

My time is well spent creating art in the form of mixed and digital media and has, in fact, turned out to be a well worthwhile pursuit in addition to possessing an MA. My art training was done by a NY colleague who has two BFAs, and what was once my hobby began to transition purposefully as I began tracking subtle nuances through my artistic renderings. With an abstract impressionism style at the forefront, my gallery representation becomes a little more than traditional landscape but less than figurative realism. As a multifaceted artist well versed in the arsenal of watercolor pencil, digital, Conté, and watercolor paint, employing soft lines, repetition, and the digital finessing of a drawing tablet have helped me to work the composition and sharpen my technique. For over a decade, the balance between skillfulness and technology or synergy has helped me turn visions and sketches into masterpieces that often inspire my viewership.
