Tina Boyd – Hopkinsville, KY
My name is Tina Boyd from Hopkinsville, KY. My MS journey began in 2010 when I started experiencing numbness in my left arm and leg. Prior to my diagnosis, I was being treated for migraines and a DVT blood clot in 2000. During this time, I discovered I had a blood disorder called Factor Five Leiden, along with varicose veins. In 2014, I began experiencing blurry vision in my right eye and tested positive for optic neuritis. The doctor suggested stress reduction, to which I found art.
I always enjoyed art in school; I even decorated cakes as a form of art. But after finding a painted kindness rock, I began painting rocks around 2017 to free my mind and relax. My son told me I was so good at painting that I should paint more than rocks. So, in 2020 I began painting on canvas and gave my paintings as gifts. This year I’ve started painting on old saw blades for gifts.
