Laura Patchen – Monroeville, PA

I have been living with MS for more than 20 years. When I stopped working as a speech-language pathologist due to MS symptoms I began to paint and took a few community classes. I love to paint in acrylics, as I find it more forgiving than watercolor. This means I can start and stop whenever I want or need to due to fatigue and finish another day when I have more energy. Creating paintings gives me a sense of accomplishment. Hanging the paintings where I can see them reminds me I am still capable of many worthwhile things.
