Art has been a major part of my life, always. I studied art in college and later became an art teacher. After being diagnosed with MS, I stopped working. I didn’t have the focus, stamina, or the drive. But slowly I began to force myself, even if for just 15 minutes a day, to enter my studio. The therapies I am doing have helped with fine motor skills and finding adaptive ways to work. I am thrilled to have found my passion and drive again and thrilled to have the opportunity to share.

The work submitted was completed since my diagnosis almost two years ago. The medium is collage, combining acrylic paint, alcohol inks, and cut paper. The inspiration for these collages are the strength of women across time and place. I use the dress form as a vehicle or symbol to help convey a larger message of strength and power.
