I am a live sketcher diagnosed with PPMS. I love sketching places as well as people in action, finding beauty in our everyday surroundings. When sketching live, I only have a few minutes to convey the story, so I see my sketches as finished works instead of preliminary studies for future pieces. MS has stripped me of the precision I used to have with a pencil, so I’ve developed a free and spontaneous style which has been liberating.

Lately, I have adopted a digital tablet as my main medium. It allows me to be very compact, carry less and spend my time capturing the energy and essence of my subjects rather than setting up or waiting for watercolors to dry. I still love to sketch with traditional media; I simply found a tool which helps me continue my artistic journey while minimizing the obstacles MS brings on me.
