My interest in art started back in 1970 when I was in college. My major was sociology but I had enough credits and needed to take some other courses in another subject. My roommate suggested that we both take some art courses. So I did and ended up taking more art classes than my major. I married an art major and stopped drawing because he had the talent and I felt I didn’t. I was diagnosed with MS in 1997, I went on medication in 1999 and have been doing very well. But I did not start painting again until I saw the ad for the 2012 MSAA Art Showcase and thought I would like to enter, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will continue to paint. My medium is oil as that is what I used way back in 1970 and 1971.

I do have some artists in my family as my mother did some painting. My great aunt also became interested in painting when she was in her 70’s and I have some of her paintings on display. My husband worked as a graphic designer and we met in art classes in college. I have always been interested in art but have not done any work in oils until now. So, I am painting 40 years later!
