Cindi Nathans – Wilmington, N.C.

I am 52 years old and always thought I was an artist but was afraid to speak it out loud. So, when large lesions were found on my left frontal lobe, I decided to work on the right side of my brain with art. Whether it is correct or not, I was doing it anyway. Just like the book, “Drawing with the Right Side of your Brain”. Since I had never had formal training, I signed up for two art classes at UNC-Wilmington. I learned so much in these classes and it also perked up my confidence with all the support I received. It also got me out socially, meeting so many nice caring people.

I have always been in wonder and amazed of the many colors of the outside world. They are my “INSPIRATION”. It relaxes me when I sit and watch every detail and see things other people never take the time to see. Trying to figure out all the different colors in every scene. I just love being outside.

My teenage sons are in their Senior and Junior years of High School. So I figured I better get ready for the empty nest. My dog, Casanova, and I plan on going to my little Island house to relax and paint after they graduate. It’s the most gorgeous and relaxing place in the world!
